Renter qualifications

Credit card in the renter’s own name must be presented at time of pick up. International Driver Fee $5 per day (any driver with a license other than from the USA and Canada). Mexican drivers license is not accepted. Liability Insurance Required Proof of liability insurance at the minimum State legal level is required. If no proof provided, Basic Liability Insurance must be purchased.

Payment options

Credit Card AmEx, Diners Club, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Carte Blanche and Eurocard. No other cards accepted. Authorization on credit card for $250.00 deposit plus rental charges. Debit Card Accepted with valid drivers license and debit card in the same name. Must have available funds of $250.00 plus total estimated rental charges. All funds taken as a deposit at time of rental with unused funds returned through the credit card processor after vehicle return. Due to bank processing it can take a longer period (up to 14 days) of time for credits to appear back on your account when using this form of payment. Debit Card Fee Debit card users will be charged a one-time $4.99 fee. Pre-Paid Cards We do not accept Pre-Paid cards.

Young drivers and additional drivers

Young Driver Fee $19.99 per day. Renters age 21-24 will be subject to this underage surcharge. Additional Driver Fee $10.99 per day. Spouse is considered an additional driver and must pay fee. No one under the age of 21 can rent.

Geographic restrictions

Vehicles restricted to California, Arizona, and Nevada only. Mexican Restrictions Vehicles are allowed into Mexico, but Mexican Insurance must be Purchased at the counter for $25.00 per day and a $10.00 per day surcharge to cross border with vehicle.

Shuttle service

ACE Rent a Car is a short shuttle ride from the terminal. We're conveniently located 3 mile from the San Francisco International Airport, on Bayshore Hwy. Please call 650-558-0800 upon arrival for courtesy shuttle service. Take the AirTrain to the Rental Car Center. The ACE Rent A Car shuttle will pick you up at the 3rd island by the Off Airport Rental Shuttle sign.
