Rising 87 stairs up through the 4 1/2 stories, there are 39 rooms, most of which are furnished lavishly in the 1890s–1900s period.

Hatley Castle is located on the grounds of Hatley Park and Royal Roads University in Victoria, Vancouver Island, BC. The building is 200 feet long and 86 feet wide; the turret is 82 feet high. The museum has many original artifacts from the days when Laura and James Dunsmuir lived an elegant life here on this estate.
