The athletic teams at the University of Delaware are known as the Fightin' Blue Hens. UD offers 23 varsity sports, which compete in the NCAA Division-I (FCS for football). Delaware is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in all sports.

The Wilmington Blue Rocks are a Minor League Baseball team located in Wilmington, Delaware. The Blue Rocks play in the Northern Division of the Carolina League and the Class A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. The Blue Rocks play at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium in Wilmington.
